Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended heartfelt condolences to several prominent families in the state over the passing of their loved ones, reaffirming his administration’s deep commitment to standing with citizens in moments of grief.
According to a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor, accompanied by his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, and senior aides, led a series of condolence visits across Tarauni and Rano Local Government Areas to commiserate with the bereaved.
Governor Yusuf first visited the residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Hajiya Mariya Bunkure, in Yan Awaki, Tarauni LGA, over the passing of her father, Alhaji Sani Baban Koko.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Deputy Governor Gwarzo described the deceased as “a gentleman who raised his family with deep knowledge, humility, and values centered on respect for humanity.”
He added, “Governor Yusuf deemed it important to personally lead this delegation to extend our condolences to the Minister. May Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.”
In response, Minister Bunkure expressed profound gratitude to the Governor and his team for the comforting visit and heartfelt prayers.
The Governor also paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Bauran Kano, whose wife, Hajiya Hauwa Maikano, passed away recently.
The deceased was the mother-in-law of the Deputy Governor. During the visit to their residence in ‘Yar Akwa, Na’ibawa, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Auwal Sani, offered prayers and urged the family to accept the loss with total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
In a similar visit, Governor Yusuf commiserated with the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saje Rano, over the death of her grandmother.
The Governor met with the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Isa Umar, at the family residence, where he offered prayers for the deceased and comforted the family.
The Governor also visited the residence of Wada A. A. Rano to condole with him over the death of his father.
In a related show of compassion, he paid a courtesy visit to A. A. Rano’s elderly father, who is currently recovering from an illness, and offered prayers for his quick recovery.
In continuation of his condolence tour, Governor Yusuf visited the home of Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, the Managing Director of Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, over the death of his beloved mother.
The Governor offered prayers for the repose of her soul and prayed that Allah grants the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed that his administration will always identify with the people, especially in their times of sorrow, praying for divine mercy upon the deceased and strength for the grieving families.
